Key findings: Insufficient evidence to review

This policy aims to establish Singapore’s key strategies to build a sustainable, resource-efficient and climate-resilient nation. This includes adopting a circular economy approach to waste and resource management practices, and shifting towards more sustainable production and consumption. The primary driver for this policy was political, the Zero Waste Masterplan will support: SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 14: Life Below Water” and other SDGs under the Government’s long-term agenda and the Paris Agreement. The National Environment Agency, a statutory board under the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment (MSE) is responsible for the administration of this policy (Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources & National Environment Agency, 2019). There was insufficient evidence available to complete the evaluation framework at the time of the assessment., but a positive impact on plastic pollution has been reported for this policy (Towards Zero Waste, n.d). This policy had insufficient evidence to review.
