View the policy documentThis policy has the goal of “No packaging (inclusive of plastic) ends up in landfills or as litter (inclusive of oceans, lakes and rivers), 100% reusable or recyclable packaging by 2025, to reduce the use of virgin plastics by a third by 2025.” Nestlé is making progress towards their goals, but face criticism due to their focus on increasing the recyclability of their products and effectively placing responsibility on consumers.

These reviews determine the effectiveness of policies in reducing plastic pollution and we offer recommendations in light of this evidence, to enhance future policy making.
