CaPSA is a call to coordinated action on plastics science priorities. It is designed to help all researchers and research funders understand the key plastics science needs. There was insufficient evidence available to evaluate this policy as it is too recent. CaPSA has the potential to help better inform policy development and improve the ability to track the effectiveness of actions taken in terms of plastic pollution. However, its primary aim is to investigate and collect data. Other measures would likely be required to use the data in a way that could further reduce plastic pollution (Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), 2019).
